FAQs

The IPL is not considered a painful treatment, and the laser is very tolerable. During treatment, you may experience very mild discomfort. The sensation of the laser is similar to a slight snapping sensation with some heat. We ensure our patients are comfortable throughout the entire treatment by applying topical numbing agent 30 minutes prior to treatment.
-
Patients will begin to see results 7-10 days after an IPL laser treatment. Full results can be seen after two weeks. Since the IPL stimulates new collagen, continual results will build up to 6 months after the initial treatment.
-
The IPL laser can essentially be used on any part of the body. The most popular areas to treat with the IPL laser are the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.

There is technically no downtime required after a IPL treatment. You may wear makeup immediately after treatment, and can resume normal activities. After your treatment, you may appear slightly red, similar to a sunburn. Any hyper-pigmentation that you currently have, will begin to darken, and eventually take on the appearance of “coffee grounds”. These “Coffee grounds” will begin to slough off as the skin heals.
